Jr. Jacks Open Conference Play with Victories Over Hamburg and Monticello

The Jr. Jacks have come back from the Holiday's playing some pretty good basketball. They defeated Hamburg and Monticello to open up conference play. they travelled to Hamburg, last Tuesday night and won the game 42 to 35, behind the play of Marcus Miller and Vincent Steppes leading the way with 11 points each. Grant Barrett and J'Malachi Kinnard combine for 13 points between them as tough defense and good rebounding helped secure the win.
The first home game of the season opened up with Monticello, and the Jr Jacks came out on fire, as guard, Grant Barrett, poured in 13 points, and Javion Robinson adding 6 to end the first quarter with a score of 21 to 4. We cooled down some in the second quarter as both teams scored 14 points each, to end the half with a 35 to 18 lead. Although, Monticello outscored us in the second half 25 to 19 , we were able to hold on for the win 54 to 43. Grant finished with 20 points, Javion had 13 points, Marcus added  8 points and Jacoby Stovall, Vincent Steppes and J'Malachi Kinnard added 3 apiece. Jr. Boys record is now 2 and 4 overall and 1 and 1 in conference. We had to forfeit the win at Hamburg due to playing an ineligible player. That falls on my shoulders, and is one that I apologize for to the community and to the players, for, for not taking care  of business .
Next up for the Jr. Jacks is a trip to play in the Camden Fairview invitational Saturday at 10 am against Camden Harmony Grove, if we win we play again at 12:30 against Eldorado. If we should lose Game one we will play again at 1:45 in Losers bracket game.
