Warren Sr. Boys Lose in Overtime to Bobcat

Warren's senior boys lost in overtime to the Dumas Bobcats last Thursday night at the Warren gymnasium. A game filled with momentum swings, saw the Lumberjacks open up with a 13 to 9 lead in the opening period. Warren's Lafoy Smith and Rashun Franklin, combined for 8 of those 13 points. Dumas took off in the second period and outscored the Jacks 22 to 9, to take the momentum and a 31 to 20 lead  in to the locker room with them. The Jacks fought back, outscoring the Bobcats by two in the third, but Dumas still holding the lead 41 to 32. The fourth quarter, saw the Fighting Jacks double up on Dumas, 18 to 9, to tie the game up at 50, with the time running down, Dumas had the ball, they tried to make a long pass that was intercepted by Ryan Clary , near the top of the key on the Bobcats end of the floor, but, did not to take advantage of the opportunity before the clock ran out.
So to Overtime we go; In the overtime period, we took a 4 point lead at one point and could not hold on to the ball, and take care of the opportunity that we had earned and fought so hard for. Dumas had a two point lead 58 to 56, after making two free throws, the Jacks raced the ball up the floor, and we called a timeout with 2 seconds left to set up for a last shot. We were able to get the ball to Darveon Brown and he was fouled on a three point attempt, that just fell short. No time remaining on the clock, three free throws to decide the game, and unfortunately, Dumas came away with the win.
Warren returns to action, Tuesday at Crossett, 5:30 start time with just two games on tap, starting with Sr. Girls, followed by the Sr. Boys.
