Braddock Named GAC Pitcher of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas - University of Arkansas at Monticello senior Austin Braddock has been named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week after recording complete-game victories over league-leading Ouachita Baptist and defending regular season champion Arkansas Tech.

Braddock took over the top spot on UAM's ERA leaderboard and moved into second in the GAC with his wins over the past week. He now holds a 6-1 record in seven starts with a 2.00 ERA. He is tied for the GAC's top spot in wins, leads the league in complete games (five), and has held opponents to a GAC best .166 batting average so far.

The Columbus, Mississippi native began his pitcher of the week campaign last Monday in a complete-game 4-3 win over Ouachita Baptist at home. In that win, he gave up three runs off seven hits and recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts with only one walk allowed.

This past Saturday, Braddock helped the Weevils capture a series victory over Arkansas Tech by allowing just one run off five hits with two strikeouts in seven innings.

This is UAM's first weekly honor from the GAC this season, and the first career honor for Braddock.
