Free Day at the Speedway featuring a Car Show

Warren Arkansas Speedway will open for the 2015 racing season with a Car Show & Play Day Saturday March 28 starting at 11a.m.. General Admission for the day is free. Pit admission is $10. Everyone is invited to come get an up close look at some of the race cars that will be competing this year and meet the drivers who drive them.

"We are excited to be opening for our fourth year", said Tracy Standfield, spokesperson for the track, "each year we have experience growth, in both car count and spectators. I think this growth is in part due to the dedication and passion of track managers Ronnie & Leah Via and their staff's desire to make W.A.S. the best it can be for both the drivers, their families and friends as well as all the spectators."

The Car Show will feature cars from each of the following six classes; Stinger, Mini Stock, Factory Stock, Hobby Stock, Street Stock and Limited Sport Mods. A winner from each class will be chosen based on the looks of the car, according the judges,  who have no affiliation with any driver.

The Play portion of the event will start about 1:30, directly following the car show. Each class of cars will get to make a few laps to see how the cars handle. For some drivers this is the first time they will be behind the wheel of a race car.

The next event at the track will be Saturday, April 4 with a Test and Tune day starting at 1p.m.. Each class, will again, make a few laps to test their cars to make any adjustments needed to get them tuned for opening night of racing, Saturday, April 11.
