CHAMBERS NAMED GAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas - University of Arkansas at Monticello sophomore Braden Chambers has been named the Great American Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Chambers earned his third consecutive complete-game victory this past weekend as the first-place Weevils swept Ouachita in a three-game GAC series on the road.

The Fordyce, Arkansas native helped UAM capture its fifth consecutive GAC series victory in as many tries in the Weevils' 9-1 win over Ouachita in the first half of Saturday's double-header.

He gave up only two hits, struck out five and walked only one. He had a no-hitter working through six innings and retired the final nine Ouachita batters consecutively.

Overall this season, Chambers is 6-0 with a 2.36 earned run average. He is second in the league in ERA, second in opponent batting average (.186), first in wins, second in fewest hits allowed (29), first in fewest runs allowed (12) and first in fewest doubles allowed (two).
