GOFORTH EARNS ALL-AMERICA HONOR

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama - University of Arkansas at Monticello senior Jordan Goforth has been selected to the 2016 Division II Conference Commissioners Association Women's Basketball All-America Honorable Mention team.

Goforth becomes UAM's first women's basketball All-America honoree of the NCAA era and the 12th overall in program history. This season, she earned first team All-Great American Conference honors as well as first team all-region honors.

The Plano, Texas native ended the 2015-16 season as the No. 2 scorer in the GAC and the No. 8 scorer in all of NCAA Division II. She finished the year at 20.7 points per game, one of just 17 players in the nation to have an average of at least 20 points per contest.

She had at least 10 points in all but one game this past year, while also adding 15 games with at least 20 points and five games with at least 30. She also led the Blossoms in rebounding at 7.5 boards per game, and put together a total of nine double-doubles, which includes one game with double-digit points and assists.

Throughout the year, Goforth was the No. 1 scorer in the nation for five straight weeks, and has spent the last 14 weeks of the year ranked in the top 10.

Goforth is the all-time leading scorer in the GAC with 1,803 career points. She ended her UAM career ranked fifth all-time in scoring in program history.
