Ladyjack Soccer Team Place Third in El Dorado Tournament

The Ladyjack soccer team was back in action this past weekend at the annual El Dorado Invitational tournament.  On a relatively dry Friday night, the Ladyjacks took on the Lady Bobcats of Hope.  The contest was dominated by Warren from the beginning.  Freshmen Isabel Densmore dazzled the Warren fans with a pair of goals, while Junior Hannah Richey added another to her already growing season tally.  The Ladyjack defense was stellar, frustrating the Hope offense all night with another solid performance.  According to coach Steven Quoss, "Taylor Domineck was everywhere for our defense. She controls the middle and her speed is tough to beat. She makes things extremely difficult for opposing offenses."

On Saturday, the Ladyjacks faced off against tournament host El Dorado.  The Ladyjack scoring was again lead by Isabel Densmore who struck again with an impressive long distance goal in the rain.  At half, the Ladyjacks were poised for the upset but El Dorado tied the game midway through the second half and scored the go ahead goal with 5 minutes remaining in what had become very wet and slippery conditions.

With the loss, the Ladyjacks took on the Hamburg Lady Lions Saturday night for third place.  As in previous games this year, the Ladyjacks jumped out with an early lead with 3 goals in under 20 minutes.  Junior Denisha Stallings scored a pair of goals, Junior Rosa Bautista, and Junior Hannah Richey each added another.  The Lady Lions would breach the Warren defense only once late in the first half but the game was already well in hand.

Coach Steven Quoss said he was extremely pleased with his team and how hard they compete every time they are on the field.  He went on to say, "Hannah Richie, Denisha Stallings, Isabel Densmore, Taylor Domineck, Rosa Bautista and Nicole Tinoco had a great tournament.  I look forward to what the rest of the season has in store for us!"

The Ladyjacks take on Lisa Academy Tuesday, March 15 at 5pm at Jim Hurley Jr Field for their home opener.  This Thursday, March 17, they will again be home against White Hall as well.  Come and see these young ladies as they compete and chase a conference championship!
