Lumberjacks Spring Practice Report-PLUS EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS

Warren's offensive and defensive lines locking up during a drill Thursday afternoon.
The Warren Lumberjack Football Team put in another strong spring workout Thursday, May 5 at the campus training facility.  salineriverchronicle.com had a photographer at practice who brought back a number of pics, which can all be seen on our Facebook page.  Please like salineriverchronicle.com when you check them out.

Coach Bo Hembree and staff put the Jacks through their paces with a nice half pad workout in warmer temperatures.  Both offensive lead men, quarterback Hayden Lassiter and running back Dennis Daniels, looked to be in good form.  Daniels footwork seems to be improving day by day, and Lassiter's accuracy was spot on.  The two teammates will be seniors this coming fall, meaning major leadership roles will fall on their shoulders.

The receiving corps appears as impressive as ever, with crisp routes at every spot. Treylon Burks is also expected to be a vital asset next season for this offense.  He just finished baseball season, so spring football will feel like a welcomed break in some ways.  His schedule, along with that of Hayden Lassiter and others who just finished up on the diamond, has now slowed down somewhat.

This team has a noticeable amount of size this coming season, something that a few years ago wasn't a trait among the Jacks.  The defensive and offensive lines were both intense Thursday afternoon, looking eager for contact and happy to be back in partial pads.  Greyson Ashcraft was a hair quicker off the snap at defensive end.  He will be a major part of the defensive unit next season.

Wideout Braden Curry sprinting downfield.
Another player that had an impressive afternoon was receiver/defensive back Braden Curry.  Curry came up with the ninth grade this past season and had a significant impact.  His natural skills should flourish around this talented staff and among what could be a really good cast of athletes this coming fall.
