It’s finally that time of year again – Football season! Football season is a time when everyone can come together and cheer on their favorite team & favorite player. The stands are filled with crowds of excited parents and loved ones jumping, shouting, & clapping. At the Donald W. Reynolds YMCA, football season means spending an entire Saturday with friends and family. The Youth Tackle Football program at the DWR YMCA consists of 2 teams: 3rd & 4th graders & 5th & 6th graders. There are 8 teams represented in our division. Each team will host one Jamboree throughout the season. This year, 39 boys signed up to play with the 3rd & 4th grade Pee-Wee Lumberjacks & 36 players signed up for the 5th & 6th grade team. Last Saturday, September 10th, the Pee-Wee Lumberjacks played at Monticello High School. The 3rd & 4th graders won in double overtime defeating Crossett & bringing their record to 1-0. The 5th & 6th graders lost bringing their record to 1-1. The next game will be this Saturday, September 17th, at McGehee. The Jamboree at Warren will be held October 1st at Jim Hurley Football Stadium. The road to success starts here.
