UAM Men's Basketball Earns #4 Seed

NDIANAPOLIS – The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team earned the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Central Region Tournament and will face No. 5 seed and defending National Champion Augustana this Saturday, March 11 in Maryville, Missouri at 8:15 p.m.

This is the second overall NCAA Tournament appearance for the Weevils in the program's history, with the last dating back to the 2005-2006 season, when the Weevils advanced into the Sweet Sixteen.

Arkansas-Monticello finished the regular season posting a 21-5 record with a 17-5 record in the Great American Conference for a share of the GAC Regular Season Championship. The Weevils then went on to earn the two seed in the GAC Tournament where UAM advanced to the finals until falling to East Central on Sunday.

The Central Region is made up of teams from the Great American Conference, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

Northwest Missouri State earned the No. 1 seed and will play No. 8 seed Upper Iowa. Southwest Minnesota State earned the No. 2 spot and will face No. 7 Arkansas Tech, and No. 3 seed East Central will take on No. 6 seed MSU Moorhead.
