FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas men’s basketball head coach Mike Anderson announced Tuesday that 6-foot-8 forward Gabe Osabuohien from Toronto, Canada, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Razorbacks for the 2017-18 season.
Osabuohien (pronounced oh-sah-BOY-en) is ranked the No. 5 player in the state of Arkansas and the No. 63 small forward in the country by 247Sports.com. He played his prep career at Little Rock’s Southwest Christian Academy and becomes the fourth player from the Natural State to join the Razorbacks for the 2017-18 campaign.
He averaged 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists as a senior for a team that went 31-2 and advanced to the NACA National Championships. Osabuohien averaged 12 points and eight rebounds as a junior and played AAU with Grassroots Canada, before joining Team Loaded North Carolina on the Adidas Circuit the last two seasons.
Osabuohien joins an already loaded class that includes freshmen Daniel Gafford, Darious Hall and Khalil Garland. Arkansas currently has a top-20 recruiting class by ESPN.
