The Warren Lumberjacks will face off against the Stuttgart Ricebirds in the season's home opener Friday night, September 8th. The Jacks are coming off of a tough loss to 5A LR Christian while the Ricebirds will be trying to bounce back from a loss to Arkadelphia. Stuttgart is picked first in conference 2-4A and is considered the number #4 ranked team in class 4A by Hootens. They are a good team.
Stuttgart like Warren has a new quarterback running the offense in 2017 and like the Lumberjacks have some new starters in key positions. Like Warren they have talent. The game is an early season major contest by two very good 4A schools. The two teams faced each other twice in 2016, once in regular season and once in the playoffs. Warren won both times in very competitive games.
The Lumberjacks are looking to improve on both sides of the ball in game two of the year.
