Warren's Treylon Burks Represents Our Community Well

Ten of the most outstanding high school football players in Arkansas were presented as nominees for the prestigous Landers Award Wednesday, January 17th during a live broadcast on KATV Channel 7. 
Nominated were:
Layne Hatcher-Pulaski Academy
Samy Johnson-LR Catholic
Mason Schucker-Searcy
Bennie Kemp-McClellan
Caezar Warren-Joe T. Robinson
Conner Noland-Greenwood
Treylon Burks-Warren
Michael George-Conway
Ta'Von Hicks-Wynne
Gerry Bohanon-Earle

High lights were shown of each of the ten players, and all ten were briefly interviewed.  It was pointed out by KATV Sports Director Steve Sullivan that Treylon is not only one of the best players in Arkansas but also one of the best in America.  They talked about his great skills and the fact he played so many positions to help the Lumberjacks win.  Sullivan stressed that he is just a junior. 

During the interview portion of the show, Treylon  did an outstanding job and represented his family, the Lumberjack players and coaches, the Warren School District, and the community of Warren with class and character. 

Prior to the naming of the Landers Award winner, Aaron Griffin of North Little Rock was presented with the Paul Eells Award.

Mr. Sullivan noted that three players received first place votes.  Conner Nolan of Greenwood was awarded the Landers Award Trophy, and his school was presented with a $3000 check.
