Warren Jr.Jacks Defeat Hamburg

The Warren Jr. Jacks and the Warren 7th Grade football teams played the Hamburg Jr. Lions and 7th Grade team at Jim Hurley, Jr. Stadium Thursday, September 6th.  Both games were originally set to be played in Hamburg, but due to the anticipated rain, the games were relocated to Warren to play on the turf field.  It did rain off and on throughout the game.

The Baby Jack 7th Graders won their game 24-14.  The Jr. Jacks dominated the Jr. Lions 44-0 after a sportsmanship ruled second half.  Warren dominated on offense, defense and special teams. Almost every time the Jr. Jacks scored the kickoff was sent into the end zone for no return.  It is highly unusual for a Jr. High team to be able to kick off into the end zone.

The Jr. Jacks recovered several fumbles and moved the ball at will.  Eighth grader Maddox Lassister filled in at quarterback for the injured Riley Cornish.  He played well, including throwing a touchdown pass.  Aaron Doggett had a great night running the ball and scored several times.  Jacari Lee looked impressive as did Cedric Calbert, Caleb Barnes, Rtavious Harrison, Zander Hemphill and others including several linemen on offense and defense.

The Jr. Jacks and 7th Grade will face Helena next Thursday night, September 13th at Helena.
