It is good to see Axley Field being used. A few years ago, the City of Warren and the Warren School District applied for a joint-venture grant and used the funds to turn the old football field into a soccer field. Even though the recently-turfed field at Jim Hurley, Jr. Stadium is home to the Warren High School soccer teams for practice and games, the old Axley Field provides a venue for private leagues and younger youth to play while still available for school use.
