WHS Celebrates Athletes

Warren High School held its 2019 All-Sports Reception and Induction into the 2019 Lumberjack Hall of Fame Monday night, May 20, in the WHS Cafeteria.  Athletes from football, cheerleading, boys and girls basketball, golf, tennis, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls track and field, and baseball and softball were presented lettermen awards, all-conference, all-state, and special awards.  The top award ,which is presented to a senior, for the night was the Dino Nichols Lumberjack of the Year which is based on all four years of the athletes participation, his or her academic record and participation in activities.  The 2019  recipient of that award was Treylon Burks.

Inducted into the 2019 Hall of Fame were former Lumberjacks Joseph Davis for basketball, Ken Thomas for basketball, Terrence Hampton for football, Johnny Johnson (posthumously)  as an associate, and Janice Calhoun Reddick for basketball and track.  Each recipient was presented a plaque and given an opportunity to speak.
Joyce O'Neill accepted the award on behalf of Johnny Johnson, Terrence Hampton, Janice Calhoun Reddick, Ken Thomas, and Joseph Davis.
