Matt Whiting Promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for UAM

MONTICELLO - University of Arkansas at Monticello Director of Athletics Chris Ratcliff has announced the promotion of Matt Whiting to Associate Athletic Director.

Whiting is in his third year as UAM's external operations director. Since joining the UAM staff, Whiting has been instrumental in rebranding the UAM Sports Association, the private fundraising arm of UAM Athletics. As a result, UAM has benefited from a 130 percent increase in annual donors and a more than 400 percent increase in annual donations.

He has also been successful at enhancing the UAM Athletics Partnership program, adding 14 new corporate-level partners during the 2013-14 sports season. He has also helped UAM raise over $400,000 for the Swing for the Fences campaign to specifically provide resources to renovate UAM's baseball and softball facilities.

"Matt has been a tireless worker since he joined UAM Athletics three years ago," said Ratcliff. "It is appropriate and time to move him up to Associate Athletic Director. Matt has a great vision for small college athletics, and has helped UAM reach goals it has never come close to reaching before. He is a great asset to the University and UAM fans nationwide."

Whiting was a two-year letterman in baseball at UAM in 2009 and 2010. He graduated from UAM in 2010 with a degree in business administration and later earned an MBA from UALR in 2010. For a look at Whiting's full bio, click here: http://uamsports.com/staff.aspx?staff=54.
