Lumberjacks Post Impressive 7-0 Win On Senior Night

Warren's Daniel Mondragon hammers home his second goal in Warren's 7-0 win over Episcopal Collegiate
An enthusiastic crowd, music roaring from loud speakers, and winning football are emanating from Jim Hurley, Jr. Stadium on a regular basis.  If it wasn’t for the smell of unbelievably amazing tacos coming from the concession stand you might think that sentence was referring to a Friday night in the fall, which of course it could!  On a side note, I don’t think anyone would mind if the tacos became a regular menu item at Jim Hurley, Jr. Stadium year round.  Truth be told, this festive atmosphere is all based around what is quickly becoming one of the top high school soccer programs in the State of Arkansas, both women’s and men’s.  That’s right!  If you haven’t found your way to the Stadium this Spring, you’re missing out!

Monday night’s game didn’t disappoint either as the Warren Lumberjack Soccer Club handed Episcopal Collegiate at 7-0 defeat.

A great team effort lead to Warren’s first goal of the evening just 10 seconds after kickoff.  A beautifully lobbed pass was taken by Javier Tinoco and nestled into the back of the net to give Warren a 1-0 lead.  Minutes later the Jacks went 2-0 when Daniel Mondragon, who had an especially outstanding performance on the night drifted a ball past Episcopal’s keeper and into the top portion of

the net.  Mondragon would add another just minutes afterwards to make the score 3-0.  Just prior to the halftime break the Lumberjacks made certain the game was well in hand as Oscar Padilla, who also hand a standout evening calmly took possession of a loose ball in the box and drove a hard shot into the bottom left corner to make it 4-0.  An Episcopal Collegiate own goal made the score 5-0 at the halftime whistle.

Padilla opened Warren’s scoring tally in the second half after getting on the reward end of a nice through ball.  Padilla tucked a low shot into the right corner.  Warren lead 6-0.  Victor Xharicata capped Warren’s night off with two minutes left in the ball game with a goal of his own to give the Lumberjacks a 7-0 win.
