Coach Kell Talks About Lady Lumberjacks

Coach Kell visits with Gregg Reep
Warren Women's Basketball Coach Jae Kell recently sat down with salineriverchronicle.com and provided an update on the status of Lady Lumberjack basketball.  She talked about the current team and where they are in the quest to compete for championships in the conference and class 4A.

Coach Kell comes to Warren from Nettleton, where she was Jr. High coach.  She grew up in Little Rock and is a graduate of Little Rock Christian High School.  Warren is her first job as a high school head coach.

The Lady Jacks are currently 7-10 on the 2016-2017 season and are presently in second place in the division within conference 8 4A.  Under the AAA rules, Warren, Monticello, Crossett and Hamburg are competing in one division and Star City, Dumas, DeWitt and Dollarway are competing in the other division of 8 4A.  Each team within the division plays each other twice and all eight teams within 8 4A will be seeded according to their record and play a conference tournament.  The conference tournament will determine who goes on to state regional play.

Coach Kell indicated she is striving to teach a winning attitude and basketball fundamentals.  She said she loved the kids.  According to the coach, the players have responded well and she believes they are getting better.

The coach went on to talk about the Jr. Lady team which is 8-2 on the season and stated that the players must be developed at a young age.  Her desire is they learn to play real good man to man defense and learn to shoot the ball with both hands effectively.

Coach Kell said she loved being in Warren and wants to build the girls program into a winning and successful program.
