Lumberjacks To Face CAC In First Round

The Warren Lumberjacks will face the CAC Mustangs Friday night in the first round of the Class 4 Arkansas High School playoffs.  CAC is the 5th seed out of the 24A conference.  Other teams in the conference include Stuttgart, Southside Batesville, Heber Springs, Lonoke, Mills, Riverview and Bald Knob.  The game will be played at Jim Hurley, Jr. Stadium in Warren.  Kick off is set for 7:00 A.M.

Warren will enter the game as the first seed out of conference 84A, having won their sixth consecutive conference title and the 15th in 19 years.  The Jacks are coming off a regular season ending loss to a very good West Helena team.  Warren experienced several injuries in the second half of the season, including the loss of Treylon Burks, the No. 1 ranked player in Arkansas.  Burks is recovering from surgery and is headed to the University of Arkansas in 2019.

Warren remains a championship capable team and the quest for another state title begins Friday night against CAC.  This team needs and deserves a large and loud crowd on hand to support their efforts.  Winning game after game and year after year is not easy.  It does not happen automatically.  Warren fans cannot get complacent.  We need to back this team with some enthusiasm.  Lumberjack football has put our city on the map in ways no public relations campaign could ever do.  The players and coaches have worked hard and they have been very successful in 2018.  Let's help them make a run at the state title like we do every year.

Be there Friday night, November 9th ready to be loud and supportive.  No doubt the team will be ready to perform.
