Lumberjacks arrive for pre-season training

The Warren Lumberjack Football team are back on campus in preparation for the fall 2020 football season, after Governor Asa Hutchinson announced there will be football in the State of Arkansas this year.

The Lumberjacks are coming off of another successful season, having gone 10-2 last year.  With added depth, there's a significant battle for starting positions.

September 4 is the kickoff date for the Jack's 2020 season, as they will take on White Hall.  Week three is an open date for Warren, and the regular season rounds off on Thursday, November 5 with the orange and black playing hosts to Helena.

This season promises to be a bit different with the COVID-19 pandemic still rattling the United States.  Warren season box ticket holders have already been notified that box seating will likely not be available this season due to the social distancing guidelines which are currently in place. In a letter sent out June 17, the Athletic Department notified box seat holders that at this time box seating "may not be able" to be offered for the 2020 season.  The letter did caution however that "this is not final and there are new rules coming out almost daily."

According to Warren's head coach and athletic director Bo Hembree, the school district is waiting on direction from the Arkansas Activities Association on when or if any percentage of the stadium may be occupied during games.

Pre-season training precautions are being implemented, with coaching staff wearing masks throughout practice sessions.
