Some people fail to see the full value of athletics.  However, one look at this photo of seven former Lumberjacks illustrates a picture of more than a game.  This photo was taken shortly after the OBU/Weevil game Saturday at OBU.  The smiling faces and embraces show a real spirit of friendship, despite differences.  A heavy dose of this spirit could better our society.  In addition, all of these young people are on scholarship, affording them opportunities to continue their education.  Behind the scene was another picture that another story.  Families gathered with their students in support and with pride.  In fact an entire community on both sides brought supportive crowds.  This surely has to boost self esteem.  Somehow the experience of seeing these young people brought great hope for all our futures.
