The Warren Lumberjack football game vs. the Crossett Eagles that was scheduled for tomorrow evening, Friday, September 25, 2020 has been cancelled and will result in a no-contest decision after a COVID precaution from Crossett forced the cancellation.
According to salineriverchronicle.com's understanding of the Arkansas Activities Associations rules for the 2020 season, this will not result in a loss for either team, and it won't count on their record. The game will not be made up at a later date.
Warren's next game will be October 2, 2020 as the Lumberjacks host Star City.
This was scheduled to be the start of conference play this week for both teams. One other game was cancelled due to COVID precautions, the Hamburg and DeWitt game this week.
From what we understand this week's cancellation had nothing to do with any Warren athletes.
Due to this week's cancellation, we will not have a game report Saturday morning. However, we will as always have our weekend sports edition available, complete with the Dr. Joe Wharton High School Football Scoreboard.
The 7th grade Jacks will play Crossett as scheduled tonight, Thursday, September 24 at 5:30 p.m. That game will be followed with the Warren Jr. Jacks taking on Crossett at 7:00 p.m. Those games will continue as scheduled.
