The Warren Lumberjack Baseball Team, playing in a very competitive conference made up of class 4A and 5A schools, have clinched a regional playoff spot.

Thursday, April 22 the Jacks traveled to Watson Chapel and struggled, losing 10-0 while using four different pitchers.  However, Friday, April 23 the Lumberjacks bounced back in front of a large home crowd and won their way into the playoffs with a come from behind 4-3 win over Crossett.

Against Crossett Clay Barnes and Payton Byrd each went 2 for 3 at the plate. Barnes had a double and a triple, while Byrd had two singles.  Freshman Ervin Rivera went one for three with a single including the go ahead RBI.

Aiden Reynolds started on the mound going one and a third inning, giving up three runs (two earned), four hits, two strikeouts and one walk.  Byrd came in and threw a spectacular game in relief, going five and two thirds innings while giving up no runs on two hits and striking out eight.  The win puts Warren in the playoffs with one regular season makeup game remaining.

The Lumberjacks will travel to Star City Tuesday, April 27 to play the Bulldogs, with the first pitch set for 5:00pm.
