UAM Fan Day Set for August 23

MONTICELLO - Ryburn Automotive Superstore and Commercial Bank are partnering with the University of Arkansas at Monticello once again to host the second annual UAM Athletics Fan Day on Saturday, August 23 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the lot at Ryburn Automotive on Highway 425 South in Monticello.

Coaches and student-athletes from all of UAM's intercollegiate athletics teams, as well as cheerleaders and the Boll Weevil mascot will participate in the event, which is open to the public at no charge.

"This is going to be a must-attend event in Southeast Arkansas," said Ryburn Automotive General Manager Ronny Williams. "We had a great turnout last year for the first-ever fan day, but we have spiced it up even more this year and hope to have a great time celebrating UAM's players and coaches."

Fans and members of the media are encouraged to stop by the dealership to visit with representatives of the UAM department of athletics about the upcoming sport seasons. Picture opportunities will be available, as well as free food and drinks. There will also be giveaways and games for all attendees.

The event will be broadcast live on the UAM Sports Radio Network at KHBM-FM 93.7 in Monticello and online at uamsports.com. Coaches and players will take the air in 15-minute segments throughout the event to discuss their respective teams and the upcoming season.

"We are excited and grateful to our friends at Ryburn (Automotive) and Commercial Bank for their continued support of our teams and continued interest in hosting a fan day," said UAM Director of Athletics Chris Ratcliff. "This will be the second year we have done this, and we look forward to engaging with our fans in Monticello and the surrounding communities."
