Lumberjacks Win On Road At Stuttgart

The Warren Lumberjacks traveled to Stuttgart Friday night, September 12 to take on the Ricebirds.  The Jacks, who are ranked #1 in 4-A, defeated the Ricebirds by a score of 28-12.

Warren took the lead on a 22-yard touchdown pass from starting senior quarterback Darveon Brown to sophomore receiver Hayden Lassiter with just over 4 minutes left in the first quarter giving the Jacks a 7-0 lead.  Brown completed three of nine passes and had two interceptions.

During the second quarter, senior Justin Gorman came into the game as quarterback.  Gorman was 15 of 21 for 200 yards and one touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Kilay Cox, a senior midway through the 3rd quarter scored for the Lumberjacks from three yards out, his second score of the night, giving them a 21-6 lead.  Cox carried the ball 19 times for 35 yards.

Calyx Harris picked up Warren's final touchdown via a grab from another Justin Gorman pass.

Stuttgart would score very late in the fourth quarter to give us the final of Warren 28, Stuttgart 12.
