Lumberjacks Defeat DeWitt on Senior Night

The Dewitt Dragons, came to town for Senior night Friday, and just like at Crossett, the Lumberjacks were not going to let Dewitt ruin their night. Starting for the Lumberjacks was Trent Broughton, Micah Richey, Kilay Cox, Ryan Clary and Lafoy Smith, five of the seven, senior Jacks, honored before the girls game. Senior Darveon Brown, came on in of the bench, and lead all scorers with 18 points as 10 Jacks got into the scoring act, with Rashun Franklin and Ryan Clary getting into double figures with 17 and 15 each. Seniors, Kilay Cox, Lafoy Smith and Micah Richey added five points each.

I have to thank these seven seniors for all they have done to improve the basketball program, because, they were 9th graders my first year, and they have stayed together, and although we have not won as many games as we would have liked to , they have improved the program. The seniors, were mentioned above along with Senior Video Coordinator, J'Kyron Hines, who for the last three years has taken care of videoing all Lumberjack basketball games, and getting the videos ready to share with the team. J'Kyron has been an integral part of improving the program as much as the players have. I congratulate the parents and thank them for letting me be a part of these young men's lives, each of them are outstanding young men.
