Lumberjacks Complete Baseball Season, Disappointed But Improving

The Warren Lumberjack Baseball Team completed the 2016 season with a fair amount of disappointment, but showed improvement throughout the year and on an upswing from the past few years.  The team was 7-11 overall and 5-9 in the conference.  According to Coach Brian Eagle the team had ample opportunities to win several games that ended up as losses, but were unable to close the deal.  The team had no seniors and one junior.  The rest were 9th and 10th graders.  They played hard and got better during the year.

Four Lumberjacks made all conference:
Hayden Lassiter, Cade Reep, Gage Reep, Treylon Burks
Lassiter was among six conference 8AAAA players to be named all state.

Lassiter led the conference with a .595 batting average, with 2 home runs and 12 extra base hits.  He had an on base percentage of .667 and a slugging percentage of .952.  His OBP, Slugging percentage and batting average for the season are Warren High School records.

Cade Reep hit .370 and fielded at a clip of .970.  Treylon Burks hit .369 and was the best center fielder in the conference.  Gage Reep hit .355 and did a great job pitching with an ERA of 2.99.

Coach Eagle indicated he was proud of the entire team and believes their future is bright.
