UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS FOOTBALL RED-WHITE GAME SCORING

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – This year’s Red-White Spring Game, the Razorbacks’ first under head coach Bret Bielema, will feature ones vs. ones for the first half.
The Arkansas offense will make up the Red Team, while the defense will be the White Team. The offense will start the game with the ball on the 25-yard line and play will continue normally, with the exception of returns. Should a punting situation occur, the coverage team will take the field but the punt will not be returned. After a score, the ball will return to the 25-yard line for the next drive. Each quarter will last 12 minutes.

Traditional scoring will be utilized, with the offense scoring touchdowns and field goals and the defense scoring on turnover returns. However, after the first and third quarters there will be a field goal shootout intended to increase pressure on the kickers and create an opportunity for the defense to hold a lead late in the game. Arkansas’ kickers, who will represent the White Team for the shootouts, will take a number of kicks during each shootout and all points accumulated will count for the White Team.
Saturday’s game begins at 2 p.m. inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium and is free to attend. The game also will be broadcast in high definition on CST, Comcast cable channel 207 in Little Rock, and ESPN3.com outside Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Missouri. Additionally, the game can be heard on Sirius channel 94, XM channel 200 and statewide on the Razorback Sports Network.
Arkansas opens the 2013 season Aug. 31 against UL-Lafayette in Fayetteville. For season ticket information for the 2013 Razorback Football season, contact the UA Ticket Office at 1-800-982-HOGS (4647).
